THE HOLY SPIRIT OUR CATALYST OF REVIVAL
"And He, when He comes, will convict the world about [the guilt of] sin [and the need for a Saviour], and about Righteousness, and about Judgment: about sin [and the true nature of it],."John 16:8-11"
Revivals are Divine Times of a Great Outpouring of God’s Spirit upon a people, a community, or a nation. In other words, a Revival is a Work of the Holy Spirit whereby He moves amongst God’s people, unbelievers, territories and systems to bring them into Obedience to God’s Will and Purposes for that Season (Joel 2:12-32). Every Genuine Revival leaves a Deep Impression on communities, changes lifestyles, heals families, and delivers people from the shackles of sin. It redirects the lives of many, and even those who reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ often feel its impact. The most important thing of all is that Genuine Revivals glorify God (Isa. 42:8). There is only One Holy Ghost Baptism but many Infillings of the Holy Ghost (Eph. 5:18). Before the Lord Jesus ascended into Glory to sit at the Right Hand of the Father, He instructed His Disciples to “tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with Power from on High” (Lk. 24:49). In Obedience to the Instruction of our Master, they tarried in Prayer and Fasting and when the Day of Pentecost fully came, the Holy Ghost rested upon every one of them, each of them with Cloven Tongues of Fire (Acts 2:1-4).
The Hebrew phrase referred to as "Ruach ha-Kodesh" is the Term used in the English Language for “The Holy Spirit.” The word “Ruach” is translated several ways in the English Bible such as “spirit”, “breath” and “wind. ”The word “ha” is used as the definite article “the” in Hebrew, and the word “Kodesh” refers to “Holy” and “Holiness.” In English, we refer to Him as “Spirit” while in the Greek Language, the word is “Pneuma”, and the Hebrew word for Holy is “Kodesh.” Since the true meaning of a word is deduced from its etymology and usage, the sole idea from the review above is an Invisible Force and in whatever sense it is used. The Holy Spirit represents that which is Invisible except by Its Manifestations. The Holy Spirit is not a Dove, Fire, or Wind, but He chooses to reveal Himself through either of these Dimensions for a Specific Effect and Various Purposes. He is not a Figment of the Imagination because He has a Mind, a Will, and Emotions. The Holy Spirit was introduced by the Lord Jesus to continue enforcing the Agenda of the Trinity on Earth (Jn. 16:7) and that covers the Revival of Creation, Systems and territories in Obedience to Christ.
The Holy Spirit stirs up our hearts to yield to God as testified in the Holy Scriptures during Apostle Peter's first sermon on the Day of Pentecost: “Now, when they heard this, they were cut to the heart [with remorse and anxiety], and they said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what are we to do?” Acts 2:37(AMP). Most Great Revivals were characterized by Fervent Prayer in Churches, workplaces, and Prayer Meetings in which many received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and the Call of God with non-Christians being brought to Repentance and Salvation (Acts 1:13; Eph. 6:18; Rom. 8:26, 27). The Holy Spirit pours out the Love of Christ in people’s lives and makes Jesus (His Person, Compassion, Death and Resurrection) more Real to the world (Jn. 16:13-15). The Holy Spirit Revivals have also been characterized by, amongst other things, healing of the sick, casting out of demons, defeat of ungodly opposition and release of Finances for the Work of God because through Prosperity shall the Kingdom be spread abroad (Zech. 1:17).
