UNVEILING THE SEVEN PILLARS OF WISDOM
"Wisdom has built a Palace supported on Seven Pillars." Proverbs 9:1 (The Living Bible)
BIBLE READING: JOB 28:28; 1KINGS 4:29-30; JOB 12:12-13; PROVERBS 4:7
The Holy Bible is abundantly clear and emphatically precise on the importance of Wisdom in the life and Ministry of every Christian believer. When he was mentoring his son and heir Solomon as he prepared to hand over the reins of Monarchical Power to him, King David delivered to him a timeless piece of advice along these lines that is yet to lose its relevance with each passing generation: "Wisdom is the Principal Thing; THEREFORE GET WISDOM. And in all your getting, get Understanding" Prov. 4:7 (NKJV). The Pathway to Wisdom begins with Knowledge (which is the Acquisition of Information), passes through Understanding (which is the Assimilation of Information) and ends up with Practical Wisdom (which is the Correct and Productive Application of Information) which is essentially result-oriented (Lk. 7:35). Anyone who lacks Wisdom lacks Stability, therefore the Holy Scriptures declare that "Wisdom and Knowledge will be the Stability of your times..." (Isa. 33:6).
Wisdom is one of those Priceless Treasures that money itself cannot buy but rather on the contrary can itself buy money. Simply put, every single problem in this life is actually a Wisdom problem. The First Verse of the Ninth Chapter of the Book of Proverbs unveils Wisdom to us as a House supported and stabilized by Seven Pillars. The following is the sequential list of these Seven Pillars of Wisdom:
(1.) Veneration: This is another Term for the Fear of the Lord, which is the Beginning or Genesis of Wisdom (Prov. 9:10).
(2.) Devotion: It is from within our Prayer Closet during Devotion that we draw Spiritual Strength (Ps. 63:1-3).
(3.) Inspiration: This speaks about a Heavenly Upload from the Lord God Almighty Himself, which we download in our spirits. It is the direct result of our inner man being awakened by Divinity (Job 32:8).
(4.) Meditation: This is basically Spiritual Digestion without which there can never be any form of Spiritual Assimilation (Ps. 1:1-3).
(5.) Information: This refers to that Raw Material from which Wisdom is taken or derived (Mal. 2:7).
(6.) Association: It takes the right contacts and alliances to always guarantee without fail a transfer of Knowledge (Prov. 13:20).
(7.) Instruction: This is basically those Teaching and Training Processes every single Christian believer is required to go through to facilitate Maturity (Prov.4:13).
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, we glorify Your Holy Name for granting unto us the Embodiment of Wisdom in the Person of our Lord Jesus Christ. O Lord, please reveal to us the importance and relevance of these Seven Pillars in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.
