WE ARE HIS LIVING EPISTLES
"Clearly you are an Epistle of Christ ministered by us,written not with ink but by the Spirit of the Living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart."2Cor. 3:3(NKJV)
BIBLE READING: GENESIS 5:1; EXODUS 18:19; HEBREWS 1:3; ACTS 14:8-18
Genuine Christianity directly passed down from the Early Church through the Ages past is extremely scarce in its Purest Form in most parts of the world in which we live today. The Holy Scriptures refer to Authentic Christian believers, as documented in our Key Scriptural Text, as "an Epistle of Christ...." In other words, we as Christian believers are expected to be the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ made flesh, (Jn. 1:14) a Precious Resource which unbelievers can easily gain access to in order to obtain Salvation. The onus, therefore, lies upon us to willingly experience a Radical Inner Change as we start becoming transformed into His Own Likeness.
It is an Indisputable Truth that it's practically impossible for anyone to fully represent or reflect any person that one doesn't really know. The Implication here is that the Primary Prerequisite for being a Living Epistle of the Lord Jesus is abiding in Him (Jn. 15:7). They called the Early Disciples Christians first in Antioch because the former recognized that the latter were an Expression of the Lord Jesus (Acts 11:26). Whosoever you behold is Who you eventually become. One major reason many unbelievers reject the Gospel of Jesus is the misrepresentation of many so-called Christians. Anything short of being an Epistle of Jesus read by all men undermines His Sacrifice on the Old Rugged Cross. This is a very serious indictment on many believers. Hence, we must manifest His True Nature for the heathen are watching our actions (Gen. 13:7).
The heartbreaking fact of the matter is that countless multitudes profess a Jesus Christ they don't even know which is exposed by their interaction with others. Let us recall the words of Pontius Pilate at the Praetorium when he asked the Jews regarding Jesus: "What then do you want me to do with Him Whom you call the King of the Jews?" (Mk. 15:12b). The same question is being asked of every Christian believer today: Are we going to hide Him under a bushel or let Him shine forth through our lives as a Living Epistle? The Lord God Almighty grant us the Grace to become the Epistles of our Lord Jesus Christ so that all men would behold Him in and through us at all times.
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, to You alone do we ascribe all the Glory, Honour and Power. O Lord, please grant us the Grace to become Your Living Epistles and become transformed into Your Image and Likeness in Jesus' Mighty Name. Amen.
